About Me

April Gardner Kosovo Peace Corps Volunteer.jpg

My name is April Gardner. Welcome to my Peace Corps Kosovo blog. I moved to Kosovo on June 5, 2016 — thirteen days before my 35th birthday! After three months of pre-service training (PST), I officially swore in as a Volunteer on August 20, 2015. Prior to becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer, I was a social worker in Chicago, IL.

In keeping a blog, I hope to accomplish several goals:
1) I want to create something I can look back at, to help me remember my time in the Peace Corps.
2) I want to create a way for my friends and family to still feel connected to my life.
3) My third, and loftiest, goal is this: I want to teach at least one person something about Kosovo, or cause one person to consider joining the Peace Corps (or doing something else drastically different with their lives).
